Morning call

I requested a morning call from my hotel in Shanghai recently and precisely at 7 am, the phone buzzed and I picked it up only to hear the operator blared out sweetly:-

This is your morning call. It is now 7 o'clock. You MUST wake up!

Bleary eyed, I put the phone down without uttering a word. It buzzed again within the next few seconds, the operator's voice booming down my ears:-

You MUST wake up NOW!

... Shanghainese do take their instructions seriously huh?

So glad to hear from all you people - thanks for dropping by.

Yeah - it's the holidays and I'm in the right mood to play truant right now. :-) Too much good food and great company has made me drunk with the delusion that it's SEMUA OK in Badwiland!!

But ah ... never mind. For once, I'll join someone in "closing one eye" so as not to spoil the mood - at least until the awfully uninspiring 2006 comes to a joyful end.

See yer all in 2007!

(ps: In case my gaiety offends some ppl, I do feel for those unfortunate ones who were affected by the floods throughout the country. My sympathy to them in their time of distress. Hopefully UMNO, MCA and MIC folks will come out in droves to render aid and words of comfort.)
