Is TWO a morally acceptable figure?
From the frontpage of the STAR today:-
MB: Only two in family can be councillors
SHAH ALAM: No more than two members of a family will be allowed to be councillors in the same local authority in Selangor at the same time, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said.
He said if several members of a family were nominated for council posts, the state would only allow two.

Can anybody else see the flaw in the above statement?
No wonder politics is such a big business these days.

It's not about how many in the family is appointed as councillors or ministers. It's about the possibility of cronyism and nepotism that could persist. The presumption is that there is a high probablity that it can give rise to conflict of interests and cartelism. Therefore, in political philosophy and the doctrine of good government, it is discouraged.
Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. Similarly, independence must not only exist but must be seen to be existing. Not here though...
2? too much! If only one, cronyism & nepotism still exist.
Hmpf... for me the flaw is the fact that they are appointed! If they were elected these *&!%##s would never have got away with not paying assessments, running illegal restaurants, etc.
Do you know that Zakaria has an *illegal* restaurant? And that:
"In spite of the fact that the satay house is unlicensed, MPK found it fit to tear down the illegal extensions of a licensed neighbouring stall, said to be a stiff competitor to DZ Satay [i.e. Zakaria's illegal restaurant]."

Absolutely disgusting!
Well said guys! But these days, no one notices the rot anymore, what with such an engrossing fight being played out by the two main protagonists in our country. How sick, how sad, huh?
