Prudence is a brand new Toyota Camry
Ron wants to drive a new car. And this is as good a time to get one, without forking out money from his own pocket.
I mean, he only wants a Toyota Camry, not Mercedes. That's not asking too much, right?
As long as Ron is not asking for a new Mercedes, there's nothing wrong, right? A Toyota Camry is not as expensive as Mercedes and the maintenance is also not as high as a Mercedes, or even a Proton Perdana.
So, that should make it okay. And it must be brand new. That's the most important thing. Brand new cars smell different. Like new notes. It gives you a good feeling, something a used car just can't do.
And doing things to make one feel good is very important now, especially with so much depressing news like 7.7% inflation.
Well, he is lucky. He can feel good at the expense of taxpayers. Some things don't change.
"SEMUA OK!!!"

Selangor exco may get Toyota Camry
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Government is now hinting that it may choose the Toyota Camry as the official cars for its state executive councillors.
State executive councillor for Local Government, Studies and Research Ronnie Liu said the choice was appropriate as the price of the car was reasonable and maintenance cost not high.
“Personally, I feel the Toyota Camry is the best choice and have made the suggestion to the Mentri Besar (Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim).
“However, he has not made a decision. But I feel there won’t be any objection as the Toyota Camry is much cheaper than the Mercedes,” he told reporters here yesterday. – Bernama

Looks like the horns are slowly coming out. i guess everyone is the same. but i suppose a camry is 'not that bad'....sigh...
Well Zewt, I feel that public expenditure should only be incurred based on "need" basis and not "wants".
If their existing cars are no longer road worthy, it's fine to get a new one and I agree with you that a Camry would be a better choice compared to Perdana.
Pakatan leaders need to be more transparent when spending taxpayers' money - if they wish to be more than a one term govt.
i still think a perdana is the right choice. it's more cost effective and of cos... it is still a national car. but you're right, it has to be on a need basis and not wants basis.
In my opinion I can't see what's wrong for EXCOs to drive mercedes. if the nation can be so damn concern about public funds and expenditure, then the prime issue is corruption and cronyism.
There's mammoth pillages and pilferages which the govt had to attend to; not cars, be it mercedes.
If the EXCOs can't even drive a Merz then we can't expect them any better too.
Give them the Merz and get them to work.
But Mave ... look at Selangor Negeri Maju under Khir Toyo where exco members enjoy luxuries like EXCO Village and lawatan sambil belajar and yet, and yet, ... were they any better at working for the people?
I think they need to shed their "entitlement mentality" which is doing as much harm as the NEP did to the Malays.
