Seditious!

From page N8, The Star, Monday 13 October 2008:-

CHERAS UMNO STARTS FUND FOR UTUSAN

KUALA LUMPUR: The Cheras Umno division has started a fund to help Utusan Malaysia defend itself against a RM30mil defamation lawsuit filed by Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.

Kicking off the fund with a RM20,000 contribution, division head Datuk Syed Ali Al Habshee said the Tabung Azan would also be used to assist mosques and suraus that needed money to buy loudspeakers for the purpose of the azan (call to prayer).

“Teresa has challenged the honour of Malays by suing Utusan Malaysia as it is a newspaper owned by the Malays.

“Challenging the Malays is similar to challenging Umno,” he said in urging other divisions to contribute to the fund.

On Thursday, Kok sued Utusan Melayu Sdn Bhd and the paper’s columnist Zaini Hassan over an article that allegedly defamed her.

Kok was said to have petitioned a mosque in Puchong to reduce the volume for the azan, something which she has strongly denied.

The mosque has also stated she was not involved in such a move.

Syed Ali said questioning the azan meant questioning the honour of Malays and Islam.

********************

WHO is urging the Malays and UMNO to take up a blind racist stand against Teresa Kok in particular and the non-Malay community in general?

WHO is questioning the azan?

WHO is questioning the honour of Malays and Islam in Malaysia?

WHO is playing with fire with the not-so-subtle loudspeaker agenda?

WHO? WHO? WHO?

After Ahmad Ismail, now we have SYED ALI AL HABSHEE.

WHO next?

The fire is being stoked and fanned in Peninsular Malaysia.

And the likes of Koh Tsu Koon, Ong, Ong & Ong will just stand back and watch in silence?

Welcome back! :-)

This is exactly the kind of non-constructive cause these UMNO elites will take up. There are more better things they can take up to help the poor Bumis but no, they want to fight the Utusan cause.

Few weeks back my husband spoke to a Malay taxi driver who was telling my husband the number of hours he had to put in just to make ends meet. The taxi man said things would be better if he can get a taxi license instead of renting the taxi. But then the taxi license is monopolized by people who has 'connection'.

Hi Helen! I was provoked into putting this post up because I feel that UMNO is really going all out to stir racial sentiments in order to win the "fight" against Anwar's bid to take over leadership as well as put fear into those who had voted against the BN in March.

And I just read Rockybru's latest post championing Cheras UMNO's cause and trying to put a malicious spin on Teresa's lawsuit against Utusan.

You can see that a distinct line is being carefully drawn and the generals are lining up their armies from all sides who are willing to play dirty.

I believe we will see more of such brutish behaviour in the coming days and weeks. What all this will lead to is anyone's guess, but in all probability, it will be destructive.

You know Helen, I'm really angry at people like KTK, the Ongs, SV, all the other non-UMNO leaders who make up BN for allowing such things to happen.

How could they be so unpatriotic??

*Sigh*

It's a lost cause, isn't it?

I don't know if you watch Sunday RTM2 7pm Mandarin politic talk show. The show will invite a panel of commentators to give their take about the current political situation. Last night the talk was about the MCA top post... Yung vs Cheah.

Most if not all of the commentators got it right. Those non-UMNo parties should stop talking about change if they're not willing to draw a line where they stand. Meaning, those in BN should have the balls to walk out of BN if their direction is no longer the same.

That is why I hate it when those component party talk big about 'change'. Talk is cheap....

Hey, sorry to be long today. I just went over Rocky's place. I know what you're talking about now... thanks for the pointer. I used to read Rocky everyday, but not nowadays. IMHO, I think his blog has 'changed'.... today's posting confirms it even more.

I don't agree with what he wrote. Rocket and Theresa can sue all they want in the court of law. It's their damn right. THere is nothing wrong allowing the law to run its course. So I don't understand what that Rocky dude is so upset about.

So glad for your quick feedback!

I don't watch TV much and I've not tuned in to our local stations since waiting up for last March election results. So your bit of info is interesting.

The only reason I can think of why the non-UMNO BN leaders are not willing to walk out is because they have all got dirty fingers while grabbing their measly share in the 3rd class section of the gravy train.

And they are not even willing to give up the crumbs for the sake of this country!

As for Rocky, this guy is embarrassing himself with that piece of revelation as to what he is REALLY made of.
